We received this wonderful thank-you note from Tanise Avington at Crisis Assistance Ministry several weeks ago.  We have been busy and have been delayed in posting this, but we want to say thank you to the folks at Crisis Assistance Ministry and all of our other non-profit partners who make our community stronger.  Thank you all for fighting the good fight and doing more than your part to make Charlotte, North Carolina a great place to live!

Warm Charlotte Announces Affiliate Program with GSS Toner!

9 Jan

Local business owners Tommy Hicks and his wife Ashlie have created a very powerful affiliate program via their company, GSS Toner, to help Warm Charlotte raise funds.  For anyone, individuals and businesses alike, that purchase ink and toner on a regular basis, you can now buy your ink directly through the following link and a portion of proceeds will be donated back to Warm Charlotte.  We all buy ink and toner anyway – why not buy it through GSS Toner and give back to the community at the same time?

By clicking any of the GSS Toner links here, just navigate the site just like you normally would and the smart technology at GSS will track your purchases and donate regularly to Warm Charlotte.  Feel free to contact us at Warm Charlotte or Tommy and Ashlie at GSS Toner with any questions about the affiliate program or how you can set one up for your non-profit or small business!

Check out the GSS Toner Facebook Page here!

Save the ‘Stache by Donating to Warm Charlotte!

6 Jan

Warm Charlotte co-founder, Trent Corbin, intended to trim his beard after ringing in 2013, but the overwhelming appeal of the mountain-man look has forced him to continue to wear his face sweater. Taking a page out of the Movember and Beards BeCAUSE books, Trent is working to raise money for Warm Charlotte by raffling off his facial hair style!  Entries into the raffle will be made for all donations made to Warm Charlotte in the month of January.  The goal is $250/week.  If Warm Charlotte raises $250/week, Trent will continue to keep rocking his whiskers for the rest of the month.  And, on February 1, one donor will be drawn from a hat (a top hat, of course) and given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to CHOOSE TRENT’S FACIAL HAIR STYLE for the ENTIRE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.

You heard that right!  Do you favor the Fu Manchu?  Have a hankerin’ for the Handlebar?  You decide which look is best for our co-founder’s February face warmer.  But, in order for this to happen, you have to donate.  Donations can be large or small – every donation gets you another entry into the raffle (HINT: Making multiple donations in smaller amounts gets you more chances to win!)

Keep in mind, if we don’t hit $250/week, Trent WILL SHAVE IT ALL OFF! Don’t miss the chance to make Trent look like a fool for a month!  Donate today!

Just take a look at how ridiculous he already looks:

Week 3 Wrap-Up: Stonecrest at Piper Glen & Crisis Assistance Ministry

24 Nov

Another amazing day of donations and giving for Warm Charlotte.  With the help of the Giving Girls, we were able to deliver over 30 bags of clothing and other items to the Crisis Assistance Ministry.  Not only do they help local area residents pay rent and utilities when they face financial trouble, they also offer a free store where our collected items will be distributed to those in need.  Their store, we learned, turns over EVERY 2 DAYS! Thanks to everyone who came by to donate and our hard-working volunteers!
