Warm Charlotte co-founder, Trent Corbin, intended to trim his beard after ringing in 2013, but the overwhelming appeal of the mountain-man look has forced him to continue to wear his face sweater. Taking a page out of the Movember and Beards BeCAUSE books, Trent is working to raise money for Warm Charlotte by raffling off his facial hair style! Entries into the raffle will be made for all donations made to Warm Charlotte in the month of January. The goal is $250/week. If Warm Charlotte raises $250/week, Trent will continue to keep rocking his whiskers for the rest of the month. And, on February 1, one donor will be drawn from a hat (a top hat, of course) and given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to CHOOSE TRENT’S FACIAL HAIR STYLE for the ENTIRE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.
You heard that right! Do you favor the Fu Manchu? Have a hankerin’ for the Handlebar? You decide which look is best for our co-founder’s February face warmer. But, in order for this to happen, you have to donate. Donations can be large or small – every donation gets you another entry into the raffle (HINT: Making multiple donations in smaller amounts gets you more chances to win!)

Another amazing day of donations and giving for Warm Charlotte. With the help of the Giving Girls, we were able to deliver over 30 bags of clothing and other items to the Crisis Assistance Ministry. Not only do they help local area residents pay rent and utilities when they face financial trouble, they also offer a free store where our collected items will be distributed to those in need. Their store, we learned, turns over EVERY 2 DAYS! Thanks to everyone who came by to donate and our hard-working volunteers!
Our biggest collection week to date, the donations rolled in in Week 2 due in large part to the news and radio coverage we received along with general fundraising and charitable efforts related to Hurricane Sandy relief.
Please remember that if you’re planning to join us at Cotswold Village Shops this Sunday for the fourth and final Warm Charlotte donation drive, we are collecting much more than just clothes, blankets, hats and scarves. All donations from this coming Sunday’s drive will benefit United Family Services, and they are in need of many food items and other necessities this winter. Please take a look at the list below and bring what you can this Sunday!
